June 8, 2017 Stamford Kiwanis held its 23rd Annual Golf ‘Kids Classic’ Fundraiser 

Once again Bob Amster and Tom Whitehouse ran a successful tournament.  Maria Fiori arranged the volunteers, Jennifer Lima and Rashida Ahmed handled registration, Rashida Ahmed, Arlene Dubiago, and Louise Cronin collected items and created the raffle baskets, covering the Hole in One : Jennifer Lima ,Alba Crespo, Arlene and Nick Dubiago, Judy Amster, Mary Spadara, Kay Breakstone, Mary C, Jennifer Lima.

June 24, 2017 at The Sheraton Stamford, almost 100 people danced to the tunes of the Sound Solution and enjoyed the tunes of vocalist who sounded so much like Frank Sinatra that you would think the chairman was in the room.  Thanks Joe Denicola for hiring Sound Solutions.  Former Mayor Michael Pavia was Master of Ceremony displaying his quit wit and easy demeanor.

Mayor David Martin who accepted our invitation spontaneously, presented the membership pins and award with professional charm and great wit.  The mayor made his closing statements acknowledging Stamford Kiwanis continual support and contribution to the Stamford community.

Membership Anniversary pins were presented by Mayor David Martin to:

45 Nick Dubiago _45 years of exemplary membership with a strong history as a Lt. Governor ( 2 terms) to the New England & Bermuda District from District 21 and recipient of the outstanding Lt. Governor award.  Also was past president of Stamford Kiwanis.

Alan Silberman _ 35 years loyal supportive member and former Lt. Governor of New England & Bermuda DisAlso was past president of Stamford Kiwanistrict is still an exemplary member.  Also was past president of Stamford Kiwanis.

Peter Rathman _who was unable to attend the gala _ 30 years of loyal service and strong member setting an example for newer members.  Also was past president of Stamford Kiwanis.

Johnny Cheung _ 20 year member and strong supporter who  arranged Chinese New Year dinners at his former restaurant in Greenwich.

Valerie Cadman  a five year member was presented with Outstandig Member of the Year 2017.  Valerie is a member that always says yes to any request, is a strong board member, serving as our representative  the Junior Achievement activities, participating and leading in our Pancake Breakfast, Kiwanis Smiles, Christmas Wish list, and many other events.
